I'm Cody Croquet, and I've been writing for years, and I've been on Patreon for a while now. I genuinely love the community there. But the more I wrote, the more I noticed that Patreon is built for creators who like to blog and post easter eggs for their podcasts. It's not built for readers. While it's great for managing subscriptions and staying connected with supporters, it was never really designed for the experience of sitting down and actually reading a story.
So I built this.
OnlyLit is a site where my writing, and that of other creators, will be in a format that makes more sense to readers. As both a writer and a reader, I wanted bookmarks, notes, a reading queue, progress that saves automatically, "Continue where you left off," and a page-turning mode that feels more like a book, like e-readers.
And because it's my own site, it's much more moldable: any feedback you give could be implemented in less than a day.
Patreon isn't going anywhere. For anyone who's on Patreon now, it's how I will continue to manage your subscription and stay connected with you. But this is where the full archive will live, and where the reading experience is actually built around YOU.
